About Fran

   My academic and professional journey has been characterised by a commitment to acquiring knowledge and expertise from various disciplines and working environments. These experiences have allowed me to develop a versatile set of skills based on a broad understanding of human behaviour, psychology, and body-mind therapeutic approaches, bringing a unique perspective to the counselling relationship with clients. With a deep appreciation for the diverse needs of individuals seeking counselling support, I tailor my approach to meet the specific requirements of each client, ensuring that they receive the most effective and personalised care. In addition, thanks to an extensive experience as a SEN educator, I have developed a comprehensive toolkit of strategies and interventions tailored to meet the individual needs of each child/young person. I am dedicated to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that empowers children/young people with special needs and their families to flourish and conquer any challenge they encounter.

My Approach

With a deep passion for helping others, I provide a safe and nurturing space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. My counselling approach is rooted in a multidisciplinary perspective, drawing insights from various disciplines and fields. I understand that each individual's journey is unique, and I tailor my techniques to meet the specific needs of the clients. But I also firmly believe that successful therapy requires a person's willingness to take action outside of the therapy room. While the therapeutic relationship and guidance from the therapist are essential, it is the client's active participation and implementation of strategies discussed in therapy that truly drive progress. Engaging in activities between sessions, such as practicing coping skills, reflecting on insights gained, or working on agreed tasks, can significantly enhance the effectiveness of your therapy. By actively participating in the therapeutic process, you're more likely to experience lasting positive changes and personal growth.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or any other personal concerns, I am here to assist you in finding effective solutions to your worries and fostering personal development.

Together, we will explore your strengths, identify areas for growth, and create practical strategies for you to take action and steadily progress towards positive changes in your life. I look forward to working with you on your path to healing and fulfilment.

Counselling

Counselling for Adults, Children & Families

Counselling can provide a safe and supportive space to explore and address personal concerns that might be impacting your daily life. Counselling can be delivered on a one-to-one or small group basis. It is important to note that recognising when you need support and reaching out for help is a sign of strength and self-awareness. Whether you are feeling stressed, anxious or experiencing relationship issues, I am here to support and guide you in finding effective solutions to your problems and move towards living a more fulfilling and satisfying life.

Below, are just a few examples of the many issues that can be effectively dealt through counselling:

  • relationship difficulties (whether it's conflict with a partner, family member, or friend);

  • anxiety and stress management;

  • depression;

  • grief and loss;

  • procrastination;

  • low self-esteem or lack of confidence;

  • trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD);

  • parenting (parenting skills, parenting through separation or divorce).

SEN Children & Young people

With a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by children and young people with special needs, as well as the impact it has on their families, I offer a safe and inclusive space where to cater for the unique emotional, social, and behavioural needs of your child/young person. Whether your child is dealing with anxiety, communication difficulties, behavioural issues, or any other emotional struggles, I adapt my approach to meet their specific needs, taking into account their unique abilities, interests and developmental stage. I strongly believe in working together with families and carers to build around your child a supportive system that emphasises communication, understanding, and overall family harmony. Together, we can foster growth and empower your child’s journey towards independence and a full life.

Some things you may want to discuss during your counselling sessions include:

  • behavioural concerns;

  • family issues (separation, divorce, parenting skills);
